Candice LeDuff Knight, MD, MPH
Dr. Knight is a compassionate mother, caring wife, devoted daughter, loving sister, and passionate truth-seeker determined to defy the conventional and often obsolete notions around aging and illness. Growing up in the close-knit community of Creole South Louisiana, she was surrounded by family and culture instilling in her the importance of connection. Sadly, these early experiences were marred by an array of health issues that touched those close to her - from cancer to heart disease. But it was these very events that set her on the road to becoming a healer. She graduated from Yale University with an undergraduate degree in history and pre-medicine followed by a Master's in Public Health from Tulane University before ultimately achieving her lifelong mission of becoming a doctor at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans before becoming board-certified in Family Medicine through the ABFM. Over the years, her health issues and those of her patients and loved ones solidified her conviction that there had to be a better approach to tackling health concerns than what was being offered by mainstream care.
With a deep ambition to uncover non-disruptive solutions for human physiology, Dr. Knight pursued specialized training which led to board-certification from ABoIM and further certification as a functional medicine physician through IFM. Dissatisfied with the lack of humanity found in conventional medical paradigms, she founded her practice - Knight Integrative Medicine - where patients could experience compassion alongside cutting-edge science tailored just for them. After nearly 10 years of private observation and during times when modern sciences revealed astonishing discoveries around self-healing capabilities, that vision evolved into what is now known as Knight Wellness: A place dedicated to providing personalized care rooted both in empathy and wisdom along with innovative scientific practices to equip patients to optimally function at any age.
When she isn't tending to patients, Dr. Knight loves nothing more than spending quality time with her two wonderful sons, Chase and Trey, as well as the love of her life - affectionately known as Mister Dr. Knight (Collins) who is an emergency medicine physician! From lively debates on acute versus chronic care to watching their sons play basketball or attending professional games together live (or just tuning in at home around a healthy meal), family, fun, food, and sports are a way of living for this beautiful Southern family.
